Look out for two local mascots.

Dashinosuke, a seal whose body parts turned into kelp after eating too much delicious Rishiri kelp; and Rinzo-kun,
who is modeled on Rinzo Mamiya, are active at local events and ceremonies.
They both appear on souvenir packaging and on panels in the city.
